I recently delivered a presentation entitled “Rank Better in 2024 with AI” at an AM Connect breakfast workshop hosted by the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce. When the audience realized that AI could provide insights into not just what to write but how to write it, there was a collective moment of clarity. In essence, you can become much better at SEO. This AI-Driven SEO strategy is simple to learn and can suggest content structures, formats, and even the tone that can engage local audiences more effectively.

The 'Aha' Moment with AI-Powered Insights for SEO

The recent “Rank Better with AI in 2024” presentation kicked off by engaging attendees in an informal poll about top SEO frustrations. Many related to not understanding what to do, and considerable time investments that search engine optimization often requires.

The session validated these pain points while demonstrating how AI is streamlining processes like keyword research, content creation and site optimization. It was emphasized that mastering “prompt engineering” unlocks great capability from tools like ChatGPT, Google’s Bard and Claude. The concept of prompts was established and how properly structuring prompts aligns with SEO objectives.

The presentation provided tips for prompt formulations that attract search traffic by unlocking AI’s capabilities. This included prompts for building strategic topical clusters tied to searcher intent, drafting on-page content outlines and even generating initial article drafts. Additional prompts were shared for optimizing titles, metadata and overall technical SEO.

There were also demonstrations of AI competitor analysis to further inform content strategies. Best practices were discussed for adding contextual details and anecdotes that humanize content.

And I made sure not to just focus on process, but also the principles and best practices to contextualize the technology for branding needs. We discussed the importance of infusing that human element into AI outputs through conveying unique voice, perspective and relevant stories. My aim was sending every business owner away with a concrete plan they could implement immediately upon returning to their office.
